A Guide to Brisbane Adventist College

guide to brisbane adventist college

From humble beginnings as a small Christian primary school on a dairy farm in 1966, Brisbane Adventist College has grown into one of the premier schools in the Wishart and Mansfield area. Today, if you’re looking for a welcoming, inclusive and warm Christian environment for your kids to be educated in, this college could be the answer.

Located at 303 Broadwater Road in Mansfield, BAC is part of the Seventh Day Adventist education and is a co-educational college covering early learning, primary and secondary education. 64% of the students have an English-speaking background, with 36% coming from non-English speaking backgrounds. The BAC school motto is “Developing Character”, and indeed there is a focus on ensuring each one of the 620 students develops to be the best version of themselves.

The Brisbane Adventist College staff of 79 is led by principal Leanne Entermann, who believes that “A fine education is about developing responsible global citizens and helping young people master important skills and mindsets for the workforce.” BAC is therefore about preparing people for their future, ensuring they’re a positive reflection on themselves and society.

Brisbane Adventist College Reviews

BAC is positively reviewed by parents, students and all interested stakeholders. Online reviews, including those on Google, are overwhelmingly positive. The Brisbane Adventist College NAPLAN results are also exceptional. It’s regarded as a smaller school, especially considering it covers all age group of students. This means a more personalised level of care can be applied to each child, and the academic effects of this are evident in the good NAPLAN results they achieve for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9.

Brisbane Adventist College Extra Curricular and Facilities

In their commitment to producing well-rounded individuals, BAC offers an extraordinary range of extra-curriculars.

Sport: This is an integral part of the student’s life, with a sporting excellence program that focuses on all aspects of school, including training, commitment and behaviour. Basketball and touch football are two of the marquee sports, while the College Athlete Development Program helps students master competency, coordination, leadership and teamwork. There’s a wide range of Tier 2 sports on offer too, including volleyball, netball, futsal and cricket, with swimming, athletics and cross country also featuring.

Music: Quality music education is provided throughout a child’s school career. This includes all forms and styles, from blues to jazz and everything inbetween. Students are taught to not only appreciate music, but to enhance their own skills at playing and creating music.

Drama: Drama is extremely important to the personal growth of our children, teaching them confidence, teamwork and creativity. The power of performance nurtures them to discover more about themselves, growing as people and as a student body.

Early Learning Centre and Kindergarten: There’s an early learning centre on campus, offering a play-based environment delivering age-appropriate programs. Complete with enclosed adventure playground, the centre helps young children grow to their greatest potential in a secure and warm environment.
