A 15 to 20-minute drive from the centre of Brisbane, Wishart has grown into a sought after lifestyle suburb in recent years. It’s easy access to the Pacific and Gateway Motorways, plus being within easy reach of Moreton Bay and the Gold Coast, adds to its appeal.

Wishart Medical Centre
Families in particular always want to be within close proximity of a good medical centre. It’s a peace of mind thing! We’re glad to report that Wishart Medical Centre is world class, offering a wide range of services from general practice to podiatry and a whole lot in between. Pharmacy? Yes. Skin care? Yes. Dietitian? Yes. For a full breakdown of what they offer, have a look at their website.
Wishart Shopping Village
The above medical centre is located in Wishart Shopping Village at 590 Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road, where there are a number of other outlets for nearby residents to enjoy. Takeaway lovers can order McDonalds, Red Rooster or Dominoes; there’s a bottle store and a bakery as well as a pool shop and an Indian restaurant. Perhaps most appealing though is the Spar grocery store, open seven days a week from 6am to 8pm. How convenient is that?
Wishart Family Dental
Also within the Wishart Shopping Village Complex is the key to a shiny, bright smile, Wishart Family Dental! These dentists are trusted in the local community, having taken care of people’s teeth in Wishart for 15 years now! They can take care of everything from check up and cleans to root canal therapy, so definitely visit their website if you live in Wishart and need some work done on your teeth.
The Bulimba Creek Bikeway
This is one of our favourite things about Wishart. It’s a 23-kilometre bikeway that stretches all the way from Murrarie up to Wishart, offering multiple access points along the way. You’ll be amazed at some of the scenery that you can enjoy right in the middle of suburbia – a true natural retreat. It’s not just great for recreation, its an important factor in the transport network for the area, allowing cyclists and pedestrians to move around safely.
Boorabin Picnic Ground
If you’ve got furry friends, they’re going to love you for taking them to Boorabin Picnic Ground. There’s an impressive dog offleash area here, complete with agility equipment to give your pooch a good runaround! It’s complemented by a kids playground, a rebound wall, a half basketball court and accessible toilets.
Wishart Community Park
There are a lot of parks in Wishart for outdoor enthusiasts to choose from, but we’re just going to touch on our two favourites. The first is Wishart Community Park, home to the Bulimba Creek Lagoon and a great place to bring the kids for a barbeque at the electric barbeque facilities. There’s a half basketball court, a car park, a picnic shelter and a shaded playground. The Bulimba Creek Bikeway passes through it.
Event Cinemas
There’s no better way to enjoy an evenings’ entertainment than by taking the family off for an outing to the cinema. Luckily leading chain Event Cinemas has a branch at Westfield garden City, just moments from most Wishart homes.
Westfield Garden City
While we’re talking about Westfield Garden City, how good is this shopping mall? Right on Wishart’s doorstep, it contains everything you need to in the way of restaurants, cafes, boutique shops and takeaways. All your favourite grocery chains are here, there is plenty of parking, and for when you need to do things like banking or going to the post office, Garden City is the place to go.
Civic Fair and Wishart Square
If you haven’t got your shopping fill from Garden City or Wishart Shopping Village, then these two shopping centres sitting right next to each other can be on your radar to try out. Between the two, you’ll find a whole range of shops and services, from physiotherapists to a pharmacy, dentist and takeaways.
