How to Pivot in the Current Environment

how to pivot in this environment

So we’re all in this changing environment. We’re not really sure what’s going to happen in the next six, 12, 18 months, and what the government’s going to do. This really reminds me of when I actually started out in real estate. I had to pivot. I had to take stock of “Where am I at? I’m at ground zero. I don’t have much in the bank. What are the jobs I can get? Now I need to make X amount of dollars within the next couple of years.”

I wanted to get married and have a family. I took a whole hard look in the mirror, and I thought, “Okay, what habits do I have? Well I’m very organized. I have a lot of determination. I can learn very, very, very quickly.”

And I also looked at, not just the habits, but also the skills that I need. What skills do I need to upgrade myself, so that I can actually become that person? And what habits do I need to upgrade, so that I can become that person to achieve the things that I wanted to?

One thing I do know is that your level of success, whether it’s in your personal life, or your business life, will never exceed the level of your personal development. You see sometimes, I can remember when I was back in uni, I graduated with software engineering, bachelor with distinction, in the top 10% of my course.

Now I’m just telling you because, to let you know there were a lot of times where I didn’t actually go to my lectures, or tutorials, and I’ve had a lot of my colleagues say, “Hey, you know you’re not going to do very well.” What they don’t understand is, it’s not what you do when everyone else is looking, it’s what you do when no one is looking. That’s what counts.

Just like in these times, a lot of us are actually working from home. It’s what you do when you’re at home, when your colleagues aren’t looking. That is what counts. It’s what you do, when your kids are asleep. It’s what you do when your partner’s asleep. When no one else is looking, that is what contributes to your success.

Look, if you have any other questions, or would just like to have a chat on just some ideas on pivoting. This is just solely based on my opinion, so feel free to contact me for a chat. I’m all ears.
